Until now, for long term hair removal, electrolysis has been the only effective therapy. Electrolysis is painful, time consuming, and more expensive than laser hair removal. Scarring, allergic reactions, and ingrown hairs are common side effects of these traditional hair removal methods.

Now, with the revolutionary GentleLase PLUS laser system, we can gently, safely, and more effectively remove unwanted body hair without damaging the delicate pores and structures of the skin.

The GentleLase Plus alexandrite laser system emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin where it is absorbed by the dark pigment of the hair follicle. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which can disable the follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unchanged. The skin is further protected during treatment by a patented dynamic cooling process where cryogen is sprayed onto the skin. This cools the upper layers of the skin, providing increased comfort.

A light spray of coolant will be felt just before each laser pulse. This spray cools the skin helping most clients to experience little discomfort. The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her pain threshold and the area of treatment. Topical anesthesia is available if needed.

The treated area may become pink or red shortly after treatment, and usually only lasts about 15 minutes but rarely lasts up to several days.

IT'S FAST! Electrolysis can take years to do a small area because individual hairs must be treated. Laser allows us to treat many hairs in just seconds! An upper lip takes just seconds, underarms 5 min., bikini line 10 min., and legs or back in 45 min. to 1 hour. Clients may go home immediately following treatment.

We use a large spot size, approximately the size of a Quarter (25¢). Why is this important? The larger the spot size, the more forward penetration of light gets into the hair follicle, disabling it. A larger spot size allows us to use higher energy levels for deeper penetration and more effective results.

Best results are achieved with fair skin and darker hair. If you have darker skin, 1-3 test spots may be given to evaluate your response and to determine a treatment plan. We have had great success in treating all skin types, including those with darker skin.

Avoid tanning, bleaching, plucking, and waxing 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. If you have had a history of perioral herpes; ask about prophylactic antiviral therapy prior to any facial treatments. All clients will be asked to provide a brief medical history prior to treatment.
